Dhaka, Jul 19 (bdnews24.com) – Members of the National Moon Sighting Committee will meet in the city on Friday evening to ascertain commencement of the holy month of Ramadan.
State Minister for Religious Affairs and also Chairman of the committee Shahjahan Mia will preside over the meeting to be held at the Islamic Foundation conference room in the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, said a press release on Thursday.
Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting, will officially start on Saturday in Bangladesh if the moon is sighted on Friday night.
Anybody having sighted the moon anywhere in Bangladesh on Friday is requested to instantly inform the committee over telephone, fax or any other means.
